Migration data and research in the recent times has been on both political and economic spheres. However the bold efforts of the European and African countries to create a respected platform for discussion and creating solutions on both ends have not always produced significant outcomes.
The Conference intends to contribute for a better understanding and to open practical channels for an inclusive dialogue in the current conditions of irregular migration in Europe.
It builds on the Rabat Process, which looks for innovative solutions for Migration challenges and on the Human-Centred Approach, prioritizing the dignity and rights of migrants.
Coincidentally the Migration Observatory Lab 2025-2030 project at the Center for African Studies University of Porto is an off shoot of post Portugal Chairmanship of the Rabat Process and to be a Knowledge Partner as Nigeria Chairmanship starts from 2025-2026
